The NSS Unit I & II of J.K.K. Nataraja College of Arts and Science organized a Social Justice Day pledge event for all teaching and non-teaching staff members on September 17, 2025, commemorating the 147th birth anniversary of Thanthai Periyar. A total of 70 staff members, comprising 43 teaching and 27 non-teaching staff, participated in the initiative.
Periyar, born on September 17, 1879, was a pioneering social activist and politician who championed social justice, equality, and rationality.
The event aimed to promote social justice, equality, and solidarity among staff members, reaffirming their commitment to fairness and inclusivity. By taking the pledge, participants demonstrated their dedication to upholding Periyar’s ideals and working towards a more equitable society .
