The Department of Mathematics Aided successfully hosted webinar on ‘Applications of Mathematics in Real-World Industries’! On today (24/02/25) Here’s a recap:
The event began with a prayer song by our students, followed by a warm welcome address by our Head of Department (HOD), Dr. T. Santhi inspiring words set the tone for the event, emphasizing the significance of mathematics in shaping our understanding of the world.
Our Principal, Capt. Dr. M. Nalini, delivered the presidential address, highlighting the importance of mathematics and encouraging students to develop a deep understanding of the subject.
The Master of Ceremonies (MOC), K. Saranya (III B.S.c Mathematics), skilfully anchored the event, ensuring a seamless transition between sessions.
Session I commenced at 11 a.m. with Dr. G. Sharmila Devi introducing the speaker, Dr. E. Prakash, Assistant Professor, Department of Mathematics, Kongunadu Arts and Science college autonomous, Coimbatore. He delivered an engaging talk on ‘Industrial Mathematics’, covering topics like oil filtration, MRI scans, nanomaterials, and autonomous vehicles.
The session was attended by over 35 participants on Google Meet, as well as students and faculty members in the seminar hall.
Session II began at 1:30 p.m. with Dr. V. Radhamani introducing the resource person, Dr. M. Suresh, Assistant Professor, Faculty of Engineering and Technology, SRM Institute of Science and Technology, Chennai. He explained the applications of mathematics in over 50 fields, including risk analysis, aerodynamics, investing, and AI.
The webinar concluded with a vote of thanks delivered by Dr. V. Radhamani, Assistant Professor, Department of Mathematics.
