About This Event

The Department of Textile and Fashion Designing, JKKN College of Arts and Science (Self-Finance), successfully organized “STYLITEX 2K26 – Association Inaugural & Two-Day Crochet Workshop” on 28.07.2026 at Senthuraja Hall from 10:00 AM to 4:00 PM. The programme was organized with the objective of formally inaugurating the departmental association for the academic year and providing learners with practical exposure to crochet techniques and handmade product development. Ms. V. Dhanalakshmi and Ms. B. Mohanapriyanka, Crochet Product Making Specialists from Erode, served as the chief guests and resource persons. The workshop included interactive demonstrations and hands-on training on crochet tools, materials, yarn selection, basic and advanced stitches, and product-making techniques.

The programme helped learners enhance their creativity, craftsmanship, teamwork, leadership, communication, and entrepreneurial skills while creating awareness about sustainable fashion and the commercial potential of handmade products. The learners actively participated in the practical sessions and gained confidence in developing crochet-based fashion accessories and decorative products.

Feedback was collected from learners and faculty members, and the participants appreciated the interactive demonstrations and hands-on learning experience. The programme also encouraged learners to explore entrepreneurship through customized crochet products and sustainable fashion practices. Based on the feedback, it was suggested to conduct advanced crochet workshops, product exhibitions, entrepreneurship training, and continuous hands-on practice sessions. The event was successfully completed with active participation and provided valuable practical learning and industry-oriented exposure to the learners.
