The Department of Textile and Fashion Designing, JKKN College of Arts & Science (Autonomous) – Self Finance, successfully organized “DrapeFlix–2025”, an International Saree Day Celebration and Saree Drape Competition, on 22.12.2025 at Vibrant Arangam.
The event aimed to celebrate the cultural richness, versatility, and timeless elegance of the Indian saree while reviving interest among students through creative and traditional draping styles. Learners from Arts and Science disciplines actively participated, showcasing regional draping techniques and innovative interpretations that blended tradition with contemporary fashion.
The programme enhanced students’ practical understanding of fabric behavior, pleating, silhouette formation, creativity, confidence, and presentation skills, while fostering appreciation for cultural heritage and sustainable fashion practices. Coordinated by Mrs. S. Sri Tharunya and Mr. G. Arul Kumar, the event received highly positive feedback from participants, highlighting effective organization, engaging themes, and valuable experiential learning, making DrapeFlix–2025 a meaningful and enriching cultural–academic initiative.
