Dr. Hemalatha Devaraj is an accomplished Microbiologist and Geneticist with over 15 years of experience spanning academic leadership, industrial research, and advanced genomic sciences. Currently serving as the Head of the Department of Microbiology at J.K.K. Nataraja College of Arts and Science. Proven track record in departmental administration, curriculum design as a Board of Studies Chairman, and the establishment of high-end laboratory infrastructure. Technical expertise rooted in metagenomics, yeast metabolic engineering, and microbial genetics, supported by a Ph.D. from Madurai Kamaraj University and prior experience as a Scientist at Evolva Biotech. CSIR-NET qualified, with multiple peer-reviewed publications and research contributions on the human oral microbiome and enzyme mutagenesis.
