Find the notification the week it is published and read it end to end — not a summary.
Build one sheet with every date from every college you are applying to. Look at it weekly.
Mark the collisions. Where one college's joining deadline falls before another's result, that clash is visible weeks ahead. Decide then, calmly, rather than on the afternoon it happens.
Set reminders two days early. Portals slow at deadlines and documents go missing at the worst moment.

The admission notification is written for administrators. Most applicants skim it and miss the clauses that matter. Fifteen minutes with a purpose beats an hour of skimming.
Search the document for these words and read the sentence around each.
"Last date" — and note whether it refers to the application, the fee, or the submission of documents. These are frequently three different dates and people assume they are one.
"Eligibility" — for the specific course and category you are applying to, not for the college in general.
"Documents" — the required list. Print it and tick it off physically rather than mentally.
